The workshop will be the 10th meeting of scientists in surface science and nanoscience from Brazil and Germany stimulated by the successful previous editions of the Brazilian-German Workshops on Applied Surface Science.

The detailed program will include presentations, sessions and papers on the theory of surface physics and nanostructures and related experiments in surface science and nanoscience as well as corresponding applications. It will focus on topics of current interest in both countries, such as life science applications, thin magnetic films, soft materials, and heterogeneous catalysis. This conference will provide a platform for scientific discussions and the development of collaborations between surface science groups in Brazil and Germany. These meetings will also further develop relationships between Brazilian and German surface scientists.

We sincerely hope that this workshop will pick the interest of many colleagues and students from Germany and Brazil and that all participants will enjoy an exciting week with fruitful scientific discussions.
